"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes."

First, let me introduce you myself. Hello, my name is Marina Gantsidou and I am from Greece. I was born in Athens where I lived most of my life. I believe in following the trail of our curiosities, leaning along with what life brings you, and be motivated and positive in order to achieve your goals and dreams. I believe in big ideas, radical perspectives and volunteering.
I am a graduate from the University of Piraeus, 2015, in the field of Maritime Economics. In 2012, I took the initiative to work in a Maritime company, an opportunity I grasped to put my theoretical knowledge into practice and gain experience in this field. During my second year of tuition, I got a scholarship for Erasmus studies during 6 months at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szcecin, in Poland. Living away from Athens for the first time and getting involved into subjects like Agriculture, Business Investment Theory, Tourism Management and Statistics, broaden my horizons and help me realize what my future path could be.
In February of 2014, I conducted an individual project on the sustainability of ports between Sweden and Norway, which involved getting in touch with the staff of ports in an attempt to understand their high standards of the operability. A year after, in September of 2015, I got a scholarship and I moved to Lisbon in order to work in a Hostel as front desk receptionist. I was in charge of warm-welcoming the customers and assisting them in their everyday needs. During my working period there, I developed interpersonal skills, necessary in order to communicate with customers and provide solutions to any problems that occurred during their stay.
I moved back to Athens in September of 2017, with the purpose of working for Apple Inc. as technical assistant at the Spanish Operation Department. In November of 2017, I joined a team of a pioneer Greek volunteering project, Ithaca Laundry, as an Operator and Photographer.
